YVONNE’S WAY AT TRINITY PLACE, San Francisco

Victoria by Richard Deutsch                                                       2021

Richard Deutsch, Victoria, 2021. Stainless steel, marble, granite paving design. Approximately 30 x 31 x 28 feet.

Richard Deutsch’s Victoria is a site-specific artwork that was installed in 2021 as part of the last phase of Trinity Place, a 4-tower residential and mixed-use development at Market and Eighth Streets in San Francisco. Chandra Cerrito / Art Advisors was honored to lead the public art program at Trinity Place from its inception in 2013.

Victoria  serves as a gateway to the project from Eighth Street. This monumental sculpture sensitively complements the beautifully designed outdoor space and its extensive, site-integrated artwork by Lawrence Argent, which was partially installed in 2016. Victoria reflects Deutsch’s deep appreciation of Roman art, classical sculpture, and stone. This appreciation, shared by both Argent and the developer’s founder, also inspired Argent’s vision for public art at Trinity Place. Together, all the artworks create a wonderful and cohesive experience. CC/AA is so grateful to have worked with Deutsch, who completed this project at a high standard of aesthetic sensibility and technical expertise.
